Powerplant Ltd. recommends annual, semi-annual or quarterly maintenance schedules to increase the reliability of the equipment. When the unit is inspected and tested regularly, it continues to deliver consistent output as per expectations. 1. Cooling system, coolant fluid condition & concentration (Changed every 3 years), radiator, hoses & clamps, radiator internal and external blockages.
2. Engine oil, condition & filtration: check for leakage and levels
3. Air cleaner element: check condition and for blockages, clean or replace
4. Fuel system, fuel line condition, fuel condition and contamination, system filtration.
5. Fan and drive belts, condition, tensioners & pulley condition. correct belt tension.
6. Electrical system checks: Is the standby battery charger operational? Is the the water jacket heater operational?
7. Battery checks, general condition (Replaced every 3 years) Battery Fluid levels.
8. Standby generator transfer switches, condition, conformity and mains failure test procedures.
9. Performance parameters, and load bank testing

While the above are only guidelines to be followed for a safe and effective use of the equipment, it is essential for the generator owners to strictly abide by all the guidelines and instructions detailed in the owner manuals.
